Duke Bluebeard’s Castle
Interdisciplinary artwork for Béla Bartók’s music. Designed and directed by Géza M. Tóth, released at International Opera Festival of Miskolc, 2006.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
This Bluebeard performance is without a white screen, so it is essential to find an interesting site, or a site which can be made interesting, which also gives a major size of a wall surface behind the orchestra. The site can be a traditional concert site (as theatre, operahouse or concert hall) but it also can be something unusual (ex: a factory building, underground tube, forest).
The premier performance happened to be in the major hall of the utmost Hungarian stalagmite cave at Aggtelek.
